However, this fear will not unify nations under the law of God. For every man will sit "under his vine and under his fig tree... for all people will walk every one in the name of his god." [Micah 4:4, 5.] "Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers [liars] like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers." [Isaiah 2:6.] Indeed, the unity between Evangelicals, Popery, the false religions of the East, and the strangers of the world behind the Sunday movement will be a great deception—a great lie. They proclaim Sunday as a day of rest and tell people what they want to hear that all will be well rather than the truth about the Sabbath and the dire consequences of breaking God's commandments.

Though Christianity will dominate the narrative, people from around the world will follow their own religious teachings and traditions while finding common ground with Evangelicals that the earth needs rest. The pope and evangelical leaders will promote an ecumenical message and incorporate unity among all religions as far as possible. When earthquakes proliferate, there will be one global message directing people to honor Sunday as a universal earth day of rest. Here Evangelical Christians, Catholics, Pagans, New Agers, environmentalists, indigenous people, and isms find common ground. This unity of various religions behind a false day of rest is rightly termed "Babylon" or Babel meaning confusion. [Revelation 18:1-5.] But the people of God will not accept this religious confusion, but "we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever." [Micah 4:5.] "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day... wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." [Exodus 20:11.] God's name is memorialized in the seventh-day Sabbath as our Creator. God's people will follow the Ten Commandments, especially the Fourth, and call sin and religious confusion by its right name. Those behind the Sunday movement will believe and promote that they are ushering in a millennium of rest, but it ends in death.

During this crisis, the people of God will be persecuted for keeping holy the seventh day Sabbath as commanded by God in the fourth commandment. By and by, Sabbath keepers will be blamed for the earthquakes and natural calamities coming on the earth. But the real cause of these judgments is that men have turned away from following God's holy law to follow the teachings and traditions of men. Instead of earthquakes and judgments humbling men, they will persist in breaking the law of God by observing Sunday as sacred. This persistence will lead to the close of probation for this sinful world and the seven last plagues of God found in Revelation 16. False unity behind Sunday sacredness will not lead to peace and prosperity, but war and bloodshed. Men will again, "beat their plowshares into swords and their pruninghooks into spears... for the harvest is ripe... for the day of the LORD is near." [Joel 3:10, 13, 14.] Great terror will return to human beings. The terror of war!

Why does a merciful God allow earthquakes with destruction of property and life? The earth is corrupt. People scramble for pleasure and wealth. God is not in their thoughts. Gratitude is not given to God as the Giver of life and happiness. Selfishness prevails. The more God blesses the earth, the more people turn from Him to gratify their own desires and follow their own inclinations and traditions. Transgression has reached the limit of God's forbearance. In order to save mankind from grieving away His Spirit forever, God in His mercy is about to allow continuous quakes to awaken the people of the earth. God must hold our attention and turn our hearts toward Him to circumvent immediate destruction. Even in judgments, the mercy of God is revealed. God is good! However, if the purpose of humanity is only pleasure and selfishness, then God's judgments will be misunderstood. "God is love." [1 John 4:8.] But only humble hearts can understand it and appreciate it. The world benumbed heart can see no love in the actions of God. Those who will not fear the judgments of God and repent will be terrorized by war and ultimately die a horrible death.

The coming world events are very serious. Again and again, men have been warned by God. But they follow their own pernicious ways to eternal death. "As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die?" [Ezekiel 33:11.]

What position will a large class of Seventh-day Adventists take worldwide? They will align as closely as possible with the ecological need to give the earth rest. They will emphasize the importance of caring for our planet, helping the sick, and point to the Sabbath as the memorial of Creation. However, they will fail to warn the world of the mark of the beast crises, Sunday exaltation, and the Catholic Church as "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH" that made all nations drunk with "the wine of the wrath of her fornication"— false teachings [Revelation 17:2, 5.] They will not declare the pope "the man of sin", "who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God." [2 Thessalonians 2:3.] They will not emphatically stress the need to turn away from honoring Sunday. They mingle with the world. Therefore, they will subtly suppress vital truth to have a greater influence over the world, but at last betray a sacred trust to warn about the dire consequences of accepting Sunday as a day of rest. Hence, "whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." [James 4:4.] Most Seventh-day Adventists will take a conciliatory position and along with the disobedient receive the seven last plagues of God by not taking a decided stand against the Sunday law mandate.

To accept Sunday as a day of rest intellectually (forehead) or as a convenience or appeasement (hand) rather than keeping the Sabbath holy according to the fourth commandment of God dishonors your Creator. Sunday sacredness is "the mark... of the beast." [Revelation 13:16, 17; 14:9.] Those who accept this false day of rest will suffer the "seven last plagues... the wrath of God." [Revelation 15:1; 14:10.]

Sunday, the first day, is not sacred. The Sabbath, the seventh day, is sacred. "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." [Exodus 20:8.] Honor God not the traditions of men.

"To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts." [Hebrews 3:15.]
