Great Earthquakes, Famines and Pestilences! - Posted: May 25, 2020
As the world copes with a world-wide pandemic, the thoughts of many turn to their government leaders and scientists for understanding and answers. Some speculate conspiracy. Others fear for the future. Yet only the Bible furnishes the cause, which is sin, and our only hope—Christ Jesus.
In Luke 21:11, Jesus says the following:
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
H1N1, Ebola, and Covid-19 are some of the worst pestilences experienced within the last 10 years. And the Bible declares that these calamities will get worse. "Men's hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth" Luke 21:16.
At last, "great earthquakes" are coming, the likes of which we have not experienced! "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." Revelation 12:12.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:12, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." The angel of mercy is folding her wings, ready to depart because people displace God for worldliness. Humanity is reaching the boundaries of God's grace.
Why is God allowing these horrific calamities?
Isaiah 24:5 KJV
v.5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
The earth is defiled because its inhabitants have "transgressed the laws" of God through murder, adultery, theft, and almost every conceivable evil. The rich oppress the poor through fair wages kept back by fraud. Greed permeates societies like an infectious disease.
The earth is defiled because its inhabitants have "changed the ordinance" of marriage through the endorsement of same-sex unions. Nowhere has this flagrant disregard of the Creator's authority regarding marriage become more visible than in America. Same-sex unions desecrate the most intimate of all social relationships between humans—marriage between a man and a woman. Social distancing separates families, friends, co-workers and churches. The LGBT movement and social distancing, as a necessary result of Covid-19, is an attack on personal relationships. Satan attacks every social unit of society to divide, conquer, reshape, and unite into opposition against God. At last, nations will unite under a one-world confederation of false religion that the Bible refers to as Babylon. But this evil conspiracy will fall. "And there followed another angel, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (her corrupt teachings)." Revelation 14:8.
Babylon is a false system of worship or a corrupt church. Nations will unite under the direction of this religio-political entity to stop national disasters by falsely returning to the worship of God. Government leaders will finally give their support to religious leaders to entreat God to stop national disasters when "great earthquakes" devastate the earth. Church and State unite to seek the mercy of God from Climate Change and natural calamities. Evangelical leaders in America, the United States Federal Government, and the Catholic Church under the influence of the pontiff of Rome will "have one mind" that will lead to her plagues "in one day." Revelation 13:11-18; 17:13; 18:8. These corrupt religious and political leaders will call for people to return to God by worshipping on Sunday and eventually persecute those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath according to the Fourth Commandment of God. Their combined influence to institute Sunday as the day to worship God will extend worldwide through a ten member unit endorsed by the United Nations (Revelation 17:12). Thus Satan seeks to destroy the last, most sacred personal relationship between humanity and their Creator by corrupting the worship of God.
The earth is defiled because its inhabitants have "broken the everlasting covenant" to worship God with supreme love and devotion. 2 Timothy 3:4 states, people are "... lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God." Pleasure seeking consumes the minds of young and old. Many live for the enjoyment of this life alone. "...as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all." Luke 17:28, 29.
It is this supreme selfishness, living to gratify oneself and forgetfulness of God, which will lead to "great earthquakes." Death and destruction follow these devastating upheavals. Through Covid-19 and social distancing, God is allowing men and women time to step away from the intense worldliness of sports entertainment, worldly music, social nightlife, and the gratification of sense through sexual perversity and gluttony. God wants Christians to put away the amusements, lightness, and vanity of this life. God is giving us time to turn away from the excitement of holiday shopping, social gatherings, birthday gatherings, worldly pleasures, and vacations of amusement with laughing and jesting to focus on eternal realities.
Do not follow the customs, habits, and practices of the world. Turn away from social media, constant texting, worthless time-consuming phone apps, and so-called Christian movies produced by Hollywood. Turn away from social platforms such as YouTube, Whatsapp, Signal, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. Turn away from scandalous and tantalizing news media that distracts the mind from Christ. Social media draws the mind to the world and worldly intercourse rather than to Christ and a relationship with God. By conformity to the world, no place is left in our thoughts for the seal of God. Satan diverts the mind from Christ by appealing to our senses and our desire for human interaction. Rather, we should be alone and connect with God. Open our Bibles and center our minds on Christ. Read. Pray— like we have never prayed before. Spend time with Jesus. Give up the pleasures of the world. Fill our minds with good rather than evil. Let the heart be drawn out to Christ. God wants us to be doers of His word not just hearers. God wants us to die to selfish pleasures and give complete, undivided attention on developing the character of Christ.
If undetected, Satan will keep our minds buried in business and home responsibilities or in a whirl of excitement and pleasure. Satan works through the power of influence where his temptations are least expected. He works to bind us to the world through unbelieving family members, church members that have a form of godliness, and close friends. Fear their social influence. Satan's objective is not necessarily to drive us into the world, but to keep us in a state of lukewarm consent with the world, through our associations and activities, until Christ spits us out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16). "Every association we form, however limited, exerts some influence upon us. The extent to which we yield to that influence will be determined by the degree of intimacy, the constancy of the intercourse, and our love and veneration for the one with whom we associate"— for good or for evil. Satan's steps are noiseless, his movements stealthy, and his weapons concealed. Through a sentimental desire to maintain relationships, Satan blinds our minds to the idolatry of placing those we love and care about ahead of our love and devotion to God. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." 2 Corinthians 6:17.
Seek God before it is eternally too late. Turn away from friends, family, and relatives that turn your mind from Christ. Turn away from their spiritual atmosphere. Turn away from the controlling power of their thoughts, opinions, and influences. Seek holiness of life "without which no man shall see the Lord" Hebrews 12:14. Die to the world that you may say like the apostle Paul, "the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world" Galatians 6:14. Do not fear to be called singular and separate by those who profess Christianity, but embrace the spirit of the world. "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them" Matthew 7:20. The spirit of the world separates many from the spirit of Christ.
Places such as Orlando, Florida have become a hotbed of vice and dissipation. The number one destination for those on Spring Break, Florida has almost reached the point where God will pour out His judgments upon it. An earthquake, devastating and deadly, will render Florida a place void of pleasure seekers. Florida's industry as a destination for pleasure lovers will cease. God will leave His mark of judgment upon the cities of Florida by removing His hand of protection. An earthquake will devastate Florida. The end of all things is near. We must wakeup. As a Christian nation, we must turn from our sins and repent.
By these "great earthquakes", men will no longer seek help from their government leaders, but will turn to their religious leaders for help. But many Christian leaders, having forsaken the law of God, are nothing more than "blind leaders of the blind" Matthew 15:14. These "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" 2 Timothy 3:13. As a people, we must seek for understanding and wisdom from the Bible and not false teachers. Our "faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." 1 Corinthians 2:5.
Professed Christian leaders will instruct people to worship the Creator on Sunday in direct violation of the Fourth Commandment to keep the Sabbath holy. A Great California Earthquake will mark the decisive turning point of our nation on this issue. By and by, religious leaders will urge Sunday observance to solicit God's mercy and grace, hoping for a return to material prosperity.
2 Chronicles 7:14 says,
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Will God heal our land if we pray but fail to 'turn from our wicked ways'?
God will NOT hear our prayers if we refuse to strike down corrupt laws that support:
* The abomination of same-sex marriage
* Teaching children the immorality of the LGBT lifestyle
* Altering the biological sex of children
* Gambling, dissipation, and gluttony
* Business monopolies that suppress fair wages
* Greed and disregard for the elderly and poor
* The agenda of secret societies toward a one-world order
* Invasion of privacy
* Mandatory vaccinations
* Legality of mind-altering drugs
* Religious intolerance
* Restriction of civil liberties
But because proud, arrogant men hate reproof and instruction, God says:
Proverbs 1:24—31 KJV
v.24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
v.25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
v.26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
v.27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
v.28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
v.29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
v.30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
v.31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
But God says to those who will pray, turn from their sins, and trust in Him, "Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast." Isaiah 26:20.
Psalm 91:1—11 KJV
v.1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
v.2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
v.3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
v.4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
v.5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
v.6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
v.7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
v.8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
v.9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
v.10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
v.11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Praise God for His precious promises!
Seek a relationship with God now, before it is forever too late!
